Thank you for visiting my
Watercolor Painting Gallery
Limited Editon Prints
and my Watercolor Gallery.
I try to portray the expressions of joy, serenity and emotion on the faces of animals and humans alike.
I am primarily a watercolorist and watercolor has become my favorite paint medium. As a watercolorist, my imaginative and realist style is noted for its dramatic light and color. I paint in a style all my own and also in the traditional watercolor method of layering transparent wash on paper working light to dark. With the precision of line I try to evoke softness in texture, creating a subtle unveiling of my subjects and landscapes. With colors hued in contrast to add richness and depth to my paintings. Trying with each painting to help the viewer feel the awesome wealth of emotions I put into each painting.
“The seeds to create were planted early, and in time, life pruned and whipped me into an artist.” Since childhood, I have led a creative life, always drawing or painting. "Although I am mainly self-taught in watercolor, creating has always been a motivating force in my life."
I took classes in Business Adminisration at ACC throughout my life and while raising my family. If I can not figure out how to get the look I want in a painting I turn to my artist friends, the library or the internet for advise. I am always studying art and my favorites are the watercolorist and impressionist.
I enjoy both drawing and painting; it is almost an obsession to paint. I have used painting as therapy in my fight with breast cancer twice. When I found out I had breast cancer, I pulled out my brushes and began to paint with a renewed interest, painting eased my mind and calm my inner turmoil. Almost all the paintings you see have all been painted since my recurrence. The paintings, Emerge Victorious, Reflect and Reflections are self portraits to my struggle with breast cancer.
Lately, I have been experimenting in oil painting - interesting but very different from watercolors - maybe soon I will add one of my oil paintings to this site. So far the only ones I liked I gave as presents - check back to see them.
